Disruption and Challenges for IT vendors and distributors

In 2017, Rootsquared produced a report for the Global Technology Distribution Council looking at the market trends impacting IT distributors and vendors. The report is titled “The Distribution Landscape and Disruption”.

Our research showed that IT Sector was responding to the key industry trends in one of two ways:

From the 2017 research, we were able to identify 6 key winning capabilities that, if embraced by the IT Channel would provide a compelling competitive advantage to ensure the Channel remains relevant for the future. These capabilities included securing the right talent, learning how to become a super integrator across multiple platforms and offerings, understanding and using data, building new sales ecosystems and finance re-engineering. Our research in 2018 tells us these still remain the hot topics. So building on this point has been retained to do some further research in the areas of the cloud sales ecosystem and cloud services.

With respect to the financing of Cloud services has been working with Capital, an innovative startup, to develop a new and innovative approach to financing cloud services.

The result of this work will be presented at the upcoming EMEA Global Technology Distribution Council Event on June 14, 2018.

The key areas that we will be presenting at the break out sessions are:

  1. Cloud and the Channel – trends challenges.
  2. What are some of the factors affecting cloud adoption?
  3. Financial obstacles to growing cloud sales.
  4. What does a new innovative finance solution look like for cloud services?
